Time to Retire Your Climbing Harness?

Stay Safe
Check and Maintain Your Climbing Harness Carefully! Your safety depends on the condition of your harness and its proper use. The harness material (nylon) degrades with exposure to sunlight, moisture, perspiration etc. As a result, three to five years is generally accepted as the lifespan of any climbing harness, but you should carefully monitor the condition of your harness, and when in doubt, replace it. A serious fall and regular use can deteriorate your harness more quickly. Your life is worth it!
